We would like to introduce ...
The Shimmy Cats
Jennifer Mollenhauer (Sophia) ~ is a dancer, an instructor, and a choreographer. She began her dance studies with ballet training under teachers Mildred Deans, Barbara Pontecorvo, and Cynthia Kaney. Through initial instruction from Ray-Anne and Deniz, she learned the art of belly dance. Further ethnic dance studies included Jewish dance and Israeli folk dance. She actively continues her education through workshops and guest teachers. She is the troupe director and co-founder of The Shimmy Cats and a former member of Egyptian Breeze. She has been teaching at Mollenhauer Dance Studio since 1997.
Through her dance, Jennifer wishes to promote cultural diversity, health, and happiness.
Jennifer has a B.S. in Biology from Radford University, Radford Virginia. She currently leads environmental education programs for National Trails, Parks & Rec in Springfield, Ohio. In her few moments of relaxation, Jennifer enjoys reading, petting her cats, and tending her woodland garden.
Amy Cox-DeBorde (Amata) ~ is a belly dancer and choreographer. She began her belly dance training with Ray-Anne and is a member of Egyptian Breeze. She is also a co-founder of The Shimmy Cats belly dance troupe.
Amy is currently employed as the events coordinator at Heatherwoode Golf Club in Springboro, Ohio.

~ are some of Sophia's students who perform at local events with The Shimmy Cats. They are enthusiastic dancers charmed by belly dance.
